WELCOME
ART!…BIG BIG SUBJECT
All definitions of Art are shadows but even shadows have value as servants to the "thing in itself".
If you cage a wild animal…you are left with a dead animal in a cage. Eventually all vigor is gone and all you have left is a hunk of frustrated meat.
Discussions about Art can be similar to caging a wild animal. It can suck the life out of what is intrinsically a wild exuberant self satisfying incursion into the realm of the unknown.
A passport into this "unknown" is individuality….. which is a quality that is inherent (but not always expressed) in every person. Clones are not invited. A Sufi might express it this way:
Pack your bags
Go to the station
Ane leave without them.
OTHER THOUGHTS ON THE SUBJECT OF ART….AND ARTISTS
The established artist is not in need of baseline platitudes or encouragement,,,,,however; neophytes inclined to express themselves in the arts may find the following statement (distilled from a statement by Kurt Vonnegut) useful:
"Exempting the few with exceptional talent....the arts are not a way to make a living. However, it is possibly the only way that the average person can make life more interesting for themselves and others. Expressing yourself through art, no matter how well or how badly...literally...is a way to make your soul
grow."

PARADISE LOST….
A consequence of seeking only in the external….sort of like:
"You can't get to Heaven in a trolley car cause the trolly
car don't go that far."
